How do you conjugate 괴다 in Korean?
괴다 (to pool, to well up) is 괘요 in the polite 해요체, 굅니다 in formal 합니다체, 괘 in casual 반말 and 괸다 in the plain written style. The past is 괬어요.
What is the past tense of 괴다?
괬어요 in everyday polite speech, 괬습니다 formally. It is built from the 아/어 form 괘 plus ㅆ, which is why an irregular stem shows its irregularity here.
Is 괴다 a regular verb?
Yes. Its stem never changes shape: 굅니다, 괘, 괴니 all keep 괴 intact. Only the ending moves.
