뒤의 말을 하기 위하여 그 대상과 관련이 있는 상황을 미리 말함을 나타내는 연결 어미.

쓰임Usage

Attaches after 있다, 없다, 계시다, adjectives and verbs ending in 있다 or 없다, the honorific -으시-, the past -었- or the future -겠-.

'있다', '없다', '계시다'나 '있다', '없다'로 끝나는 형용사, 동사 또는 '-으시-', '-었-', '-겠-' 뒤에 붙여 쓴다.

예문Examples

식사 시간이 되었는데 괜찮다면 같이 밥 먹을래?

It's mealtime now—if you're okay with it, would you like to eat together?

이쪽으로 가다 보면 작은 꽃집이 하나 있는데 그 옆이 네가 찾는 곳이야.

If you go this way, there's a small flower shop, and next to it is the place you're looking for.

유민이가 민준이에게 선물로 책을 받았는데 그 책은 마침 유민이가 사려던 것이었다.

When do you use -는데?
