How do you conjugate 바라다 in Korean?
바라다 (to wish, to hope for) is 바라요 in the polite 해요체, 바랍니다 in formal 합니다체, 바라 in casual 반말 and 바란다 in the plain written style. The past is 바랐어요.
What is the past tense of 바라다?
바랐어요 in everyday polite speech, 바랐습니다 formally. It is built from the 아/어 form 바라 plus ㅆ, which is why an irregular stem shows its irregularity here.
Is 바라다 a regular verb?
Yes. Its stem never changes shape: 바랍니다, 바라, 바라니 all keep 바라 intact. Only the ending moves.
