How do you conjugate 치다 in Korean?
치다 (to cast, to set (a net)) is 쳐요 in the polite 해요체, 칩니다 in formal 합니다체, 쳐 in casual 반말 and 친다 in the plain written style. The past is 쳤어요.
What is the past tense of 치다?
쳤어요 in everyday polite speech, 쳤습니다 formally. It is built from the 아/어 form 쳐 plus ㅆ, which is why an irregular stem shows its irregularity here.
Is 치다 a regular verb?
Yes. Its stem never changes shape: 칩니다, 쳐, 치니 all keep 치 intact. Only the ending moves.
