How do you conjugate 얻다 in Korean?
얻다 (to obtain, get) is 얻어요 in the polite 해요체, 얻습니다 in formal 합니다체, 얻어 in casual 반말 and 얻는다 in the plain written style. The past is 얻었어요.
What is the past tense of 얻다?
얻었어요 in everyday polite speech, 얻었습니다 formally. It is built from the 아/어 form 얻어 plus ㅆ, which is why an irregular stem shows its irregularity here.
Is 얻다 a regular verb?
Yes. Its stem never changes shape: 얻습니다, 얻어, 얻으니 all keep 얻 intact. Only the ending moves.
