How do you conjugate 끝나다 in Korean?
끝나다 (to come to an end) is 끝나요 in the polite 해요체, 끝납니다 in formal 합니다체, 끝나 in casual 반말 and 끝난다 in the plain written style. The past is 끝났어요.
What is the past tense of 끝나다?
끝났어요 in everyday polite speech, 끝났습니다 formally. It is built from the 아/어 form 끝나 plus ㅆ, which is why an irregular stem shows its irregularity here.
Is 끝나다 a regular verb?
Yes. Its stem never changes shape: 끝납니다, 끝나, 끝나니 all keep 끝나 intact. Only the ending moves.
