How do you conjugate 켜다 in Korean?
켜다 (to play a stringed instrument) is 켜요 in the polite 해요체, 켭니다 in formal 합니다체, 켜 in casual 반말 and 켠다 in the plain written style. The past is 켰어요.
What is the past tense of 켜다?
켰어요 in everyday polite speech, 켰습니다 formally. It is built from the 아/어 form 켜 plus ㅆ, which is why an irregular stem shows its irregularity here.
Is 켜다 a regular verb?
Yes. Its stem never changes shape: 켭니다, 켜, 켜니 all keep 켜 intact. Only the ending moves.
