How do you conjugate 사다 in Korean?
사다 (to buy, to purchase) is 사요 in the polite 해요체, 삽니다 in formal 합니다체, 사 in casual 반말 and 산다 in the plain written style. The past is 샀어요.
What is the past tense of 사다?
샀어요 in everyday polite speech, 샀습니다 formally. It is built from the 아/어 form 사 plus ㅆ, which is why an irregular stem shows its irregularity here.
Is 사다 a regular verb?
Yes. Its stem never changes shape: 삽니다, 사, 사니 all keep 사 intact. Only the ending moves.
