How do you conjugate 심다 in Korean?
심다 (to plant) is 심어요 in the polite 해요체, 심습니다 in formal 합니다체, 심어 in casual 반말 and 심는다 in the plain written style. The past is 심었어요.
What is the past tense of 심다?
심었어요 in everyday polite speech, 심었습니다 formally. It is built from the 아/어 form 심어 plus ㅆ, which is why an irregular stem shows its irregularity here.
Is 심다 a regular verb?
Yes. Its stem never changes shape: 심습니다, 심어, 심으니 all keep 심 intact. Only the ending moves.
