How do you conjugate 때다 in Korean?
때다 (to light a fire) is 때요 in the polite 해요체, 땝니다 in formal 합니다체, 때 in casual 반말 and 땐다 in the plain written style. The past is 땠어요.
What is the past tense of 때다?
땠어요 in everyday polite speech, 땠습니다 formally. It is built from the 아/어 form 때 plus ㅆ, which is why an irregular stem shows its irregularity here.
Is 때다 a regular verb?
Yes. Its stem never changes shape: 땝니다, 때, 때니 all keep 때 intact. Only the ending moves.
