They tell us things beyond what they represent.

To not look like it was made like other typefaces, to be something new.

There are three words that explain why I am here.

한자를 몇 개 배웠어요?

How many Chinese characters did you learn?

이미 한자를 쓸 수 있어요.

I am already able to write Chinese characters.

한자는 배우기 어렵다.

Chinese characters are difficult to learn.

Here's why the issue of addressing stuck with me.

This is from the mid-'60s, the change from metal type to photo, hot to cold.

At the end, it was going down.

걔는 말끝마다 "그치"를 붙이더라. 화법이 좀 이상해.

He'd add "Right?" to the end of every sentence. The way he speaks is a bit weird.

당연히 그 편지와 엽서의 내용이 무엇인지 짐작할 수 있습니다.

And of course we know intuitively what is on those letters and postcards.
